Blue jeans & cashmere…

I am…
blue jeans & cashmere,
diamonds & bare feet,
grilled cheese sandwiches… with champagne…

I fall in love a little bit every time I photograph. I’m hopelessly sentimental and love nothing more than amazing photographs that draw you into a love story… and won’t let go. The best description of great art that I ever read was that it leaves you feeling as though you have experienced something memorable. Sure, historic masters have accomplished this… Botticelli’s la Primavera in the Uffizi in Florence leaves me feeling stunned and glued to the spot every time. But I think that same sense of wanting to stay in that moment exists all around us. If we look. There are so many talented artists on Etsy and lingering al around us. Su Blackwell’s book sculptures always stop me in my tracks. Shauna Richardson’s crochetdermy, Joette Maue’s embroidery, Diem Chau, Severija Inčirauskaitė-Kriaunevičienė … the art around us is astounding.

There is a lot to say about the quantitative side of photography… I’ve been doing this for years and years, I’m nationally and internationally published, I teach aspiring photographers**… But the qualitative side is so much more fulfilling and arguably more important. Light and math make a good photograph… but it’s your head and your heart that make a great photograph. I throw my whole heart into the invitation to photograph for you…

And… together… we create those moments of great art.

I can’t do it without you and the way you love your fiance, your child, your dog, your parents. Memorable moments exists in the tiniest gestures between you. When I photograph for you, we keep those moments still… forever.

Mille bisous!
